Hokusai was born in 1760 in Tokyo, he started as an apprenctice woodcutter at 15. During his lifetime of almost 90 years he often changed he name (we shall never really know why); one example is Gakyojin tanslating to "crazy about painting". His work The Great Wave is world famous and we have available in Crystal desk clock and vase, ceramic vase, demi tasse and rectangular tray.
